He is known to most as Fra Angelico , but his real name was Guido di Pietro.
Born in Vicchio in 1395, about 20 km from Florence as the crow flies, Guido was a Dominican who was very active in
artistic field, already esteemed in his time, beatified by John Paul II in 1982.
We focused on two works:
The Coronation of the Virgin Mary , kept in Florence in the Uffizi Gallery e
Christ Glorified in the Court of Heaven , a guest of the National Gallery in London.
These two masterpieces by the Tuscan artist reveal the musical instruments in use in his time, reported in a detailed and, allow us, almost maniacal way, even more appreciable if we consider that we are not talking about dimensionally imposing works. This made the instruments not very visible and therefore, to identify them, we used high definition images.
