In 1943, at the height of World War II, the Allies implemented the "mincemeat" Plan.
The objective was to deceive the Germans and the Italians and make them believe that the landing, which took place in Sicily, should actually take place in Sardinia... And the plan included the fierce bombing of Alghero.
